Read this before your first session

The Calyra Method is general fitness and wellbeing education. It is not medical advice, physiotherapy, psychological therapy, nutritional advice or treatment for any condition. Nothing in it diagnoses, treats, cures or prevents anything, and using it does not create a practitioner and patient relationship with anyone.

Paulo Ricardo Alves Ribeiro is not a doctor and does not provide medical care. Where a session mentions a benefit, it describes what a practice is generally understood to do, not a promise about your body.

Talk to a professional before starting if any of this applies

This list is not exhaustive. If you are unsure, ask your doctor. Their guidance overrides anything said in any session here, without exception.

Breathwork carries specific risks

The faster breathing patterns in Module 04 can cause dizziness, tingling, muscle spasm and, occasionally, fainting. Never practise them while standing, driving, in or near water, or while operating anything.

Do not practise the faster patterns at all if you are pregnant, or have cardiovascular disease, uncontrolled high blood pressure, epilepsy, glaucoma, a history of panic attacks, a recent stroke, or a detached retina. The slower practices in that module carry no such restriction and are the ones the programme relies on.

Practising safely on your own

Emergencies

If you think you are having a medical emergency, call your local emergency number immediately. In Brazil that is 192 for SAMU. Do not email us and wait for a reply.

The Mentorship form review

Feedback on a video you submit is educational commentary on how a movement looks. It is not a diagnosis, an assessment of an injury, a physiotherapy opinion or a treatment plan, and it must not be relied on as one. If something in a video suggests you should see a professional, we will say so and stop there.

Your responsibility

You take part at your own risk. By using this course you accept that you are responsible for your own safety, for judging whether an exercise suits your body on a given day, and for obtaining professional advice where this notice says you should.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for injury, loss or damage arising from your use of the material. Nothing in this notice limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including the consumer rights guaranteed by articles 12 to 27 of the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code.

Questions

Ask us at support@calyrastudio.com what a given session actually involves, and we will describe it in full so your doctor or physiotherapist can advise you properly. We cannot tell you whether it is safe for you. Nobody honest can, over email.
